The 14-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Ghorepani and Poon Hill is a private guided trekking journey through the beautiful Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek combines spectacular mountain scenery, traditional villages, rhododendron and oak forests, terraced hillsides, rivers, waterfalls and the dramatic landscapes of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
The journey begins in Kathmandu and continues to Pokhara before reaching the trekking trail at Birethanti/Nayapul. From there, the route passes through Ulleri, Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Tadapani and Chhomrong before entering the deeper Modi Khola valley and Annapurna Sanctuary.
The major highlight is reaching Annapurna Base Camp at approximately 4,130 meters (13,550 feet), surrounded by some of the most impressive Himalayan peaks, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
After spending the night at Annapurna Base Camp, the trek descends through Himalaya and Sinuwa before continuing through Chhomrong, Jhinu Danda and traditional Gurung villages toward Landruk, Tolka, Deurali, Pothana and Kande, before returning to Pokhara.
This is a private trek for two people with an experienced English-speaking guide and one porter to carry the guests' main trekking luggage.

Today, you travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara by deluxe tourist bus. The journey passes through Nepal's countryside, with views of rivers, green hills, villages, agricultural terraces and changing landscapes along the way.
Upon arrival in Pokhara, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful lakeside atmosphere before beginning the trekking portion of your journey.

After breakfast, you travel by private Jeep from Pokhara toward Birethanti/Nayapul and continue toward the trekking area.
After completing the necessary entry and checkpoint formalities, the trek begins through villages, agricultural terraces and forested hillsides. The trail gradually climbs toward Ulleri, a traditional mountain settlement known for its stone-paved paths and surrounding hills.

Ghorepani is one of the best-known villages on the Poon Hill trekking route and is the overnight base for the early morning sunrise excursion the following day.

After returning to Ghorepani for breakfast, the trek continues through beautiful forest toward Tadapani. The trail passes through rhododendron-covered hills and peaceful mountain surroundings.

Today, the trek continues from Tadapani toward Chhomrong, one of the major villages on the Annapurna Sanctuary route.
The trail passes through beautiful forests, traditional settlements and terraced hillsides before descending and gradually reaching Chhomrong. From the village, you can enjoy impressive views of the surrounding Annapurna peaks.
Chhomrong is an important gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary and the higher sections of the trekking route.

Elevation: Upper Sinuwa – approximately 2,360 meters / 7,743 feet
Elevation: Dovan – approximately 2,600 meters / 8,530 feet

After leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends toward the Chhomrong Khola before climbing through forest toward Upper Sinuwa.
The route then continues deeper into the Annapurna Sanctuary through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. The trail gradually follows the Modi Khola valley toward Dovan.
The surrounding landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as you move farther into the mountain valley.

The trek continues through the narrow Modi Khola valley toward Himalaya and Deurali.
The trail passes through forested sections, waterfalls, streams and steep mountain terrain. As the elevation increases, the vegetation gradually becomes more alpine and the surrounding Himalayan peaks become increasingly prominent.
Deurali is an important overnight stopping point before continuing toward Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp.

Machhapuchhre Base Camp provides a spectacular setting beneath Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the surrounding mountains.

From Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the trail continues into the spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary toward Annapurna Base Camp.
At approximately 4,130 meters, Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by an impressive Himalayan amphitheater. Weather permitting, you can enjoy magnificent views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and the surrounding peaks.
You spend the night at Annapurna Base Camp and experience the unique atmosphere of staying within the high Himalayan mountains.

After enjoying the morning mountain surroundings, the trek begins its descent from Annapurna Base Camp.
The trail retraces the route through the Annapurna Sanctuary and gradually returns to lower elevations. As you descend, the landscape changes from alpine surroundings back to forests and greener valleys.

After breakfast, the trek continues downhill from Himalaya through the Modi Khola valley.
The trail passes through forests, waterfalls and several sections of stone steps before reaching Dovan and continuing toward Sinuwa.
Sinuwa provides a comfortable overnight stop and allows you to break up the descent before continuing toward Chhomrong, Jhinu Danda and Landruk.

Depending on the schedule, weather and trail conditions, there may be an opportunity to visit the natural hot springs area at Jhinu Danda.
After Jhinu Danda, the trek continues toward Landruk through forested hillsides, traditional villages and terraced farmland.
Landruk is a beautiful Gurung settlement with views across the surrounding valleys and mountains.

You pass through Tolka before gradually climbing toward Deurali. The route provides beautiful views across the surrounding hills and valleys and offers a peaceful final trekking night in the Annapurna foothills.

After breakfast, begin the final walking section of the trek from Deurali toward Pothana and Kande.
The trail passes through beautiful forest, traditional settlements and scenic viewpoints before reaching Kande, where the trekking portion of the journey comes to an end.
From Kande, you will take a private Jeep back to your hotel in Pokhara.
