Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek – 5 Days Itinerary

Day 1: Pokhara – Kande – Deurali (2,100 m)

Your Mardi Himal trek begins in Pokhara. Early in the morning, at approximately 7:30 AM, our private car will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Kande, the starting point of the trek. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

From Kande, we begin walking through the beautiful hills and forested trails. The route gradually climbs toward Australian Camp and continues through the peaceful Himalayan landscape toward Deurali.

After several hours of walking, we reach Deurali, where we spend the night at a local teahouse.

Overnight: Teahouse in Deurali
Altitude: 2,100 m

Day 2: Deurali – Forest Camp – Low Camp (3,035 m)

After breakfast, we continue our trek toward Forest Camp. The trail passes through dense rhododendron and Himalayan forests, providing a peaceful and scenic walking experience.

As we gain altitude, the landscape gradually changes and the surrounding mountain views become more impressive. We continue from Forest Camp toward Low Camp, where we spend the night.

The evening at Low Camp provides an opportunity to enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere and, weather permitting, views toward the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Overnight: Teahouse in Low Camp
Altitude: 3,035 m

Day 3: Low Camp – High Camp (3,590 m)

After breakfast, we continue our ascent toward High Camp.

As we gain altitude, the vegetation becomes sparser, and the trail opens up to increasingly impressive views of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

The walk from Low Camp to High Camp is relatively short compared with the previous days, giving you time to rest and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings after arriving at High Camp.

Overnight: Teahouse in High Camp
Altitude: 3,590 m

Day 4: High Camp – Mardi Himal View Point (4,200 m) – Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m) – High Camp – Badal Danda (3,210 m)

This is the most rewarding and important day of the trek.

We start early from High Camp and hike toward the Mardi Himal View Point, located at approximately 4,200 metres. The trail offers spectacular panoramic views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and other surrounding peaks.

After enjoying the views from the viewpoint, trekkers may continue toward Mardi Himal Base Camp, situated at approximately 4,500 metres.

The section from the viewpoint toward the base camp and back is a considerably longer and more demanding part of the hike. Depending on weather, snow, trail conditions, visibility, and the condition and safety of the walking route, our guide will assess whether it is appropriate to continue to the base camp.

Mardi Himal Base Camp is not always accessible in the same conditions. If the trail is covered with snow, slippery, difficult, or otherwise unsafe, we will not recommend continuing to the base camp. The Mardi Himal View Point itself offers exceptional Himalayan scenery and is already a rewarding destination.

After completing the viewpoint/base camp section as conditions allow, we return toward High Camp and continue trekking to Badal Danda, located at approximately 3,210 metres.

Badal Danda is situated on the ridge between High Camp and Low Camp and offers beautiful mountain surroundings.

Overnight: Teahouse in Badal Danda
Altitude: 3,210 m

Day 5: Badal Danda – Siding (1,280 m) – Pokhara (822 m)

After breakfast, we begin our final day of trekking. The trail descends through the forest and hillside toward Siding, a traditional village located at approximately 1,280 metres.

At Siding, our private reserved jeep will be waiting to drive you back to Pokhara. After arriving at your hotel in Pokhara, our 5-day Mardi Himal trekking adventure officially comes to an end.

Trek Ends: Pokhara
Altitude: 822 m

We hope you return from the Mardi Himal trek with wonderful memories of the Himalayas.
